Blind Troubleshooting Guide

Blind Troubleshooting Guide

This guide applies to all blinds and helps troubleshoot any errors a customer might be facing.

Prerequisites before more advanced troubleshooting:
1. Ensure the louvre system is level.
2. Ensure the posts are exactly the correct distance apart (at the bottom and top) as per the drawing of the louvre system.

Issue #1: Manual Blind Very Difficult Move or Fabric Lifting Up

If the blind is very difficult to move or the fabric is lifting up, please follow the tensioning steps below but make sure to LOOSEN the tension.

Issue #2: Blind Not Staying Up Fully

If the blind is not staying fully up or is falling down, please follow the tensioning steps below but make sure to TIGHTEN the tension.

How to Tension the Blind

Check the tension of the blind by removing the blind cassette cover and loosening the spring.

To remove the blind cassette cover, unscrew the two screws holding the blind cassette cover in place and set it aside.

Once the blind cassette cover is removed, follow these steps:

Alert
IMPORTANT: IT IS ESSENTIAL TO TAKE GREAT CARE AND FOLLOW ALL STEPS DURING THIS STEP AS THE BLIND COULD UNRAVEL.
  1. Remove the screws for the blind tension bracket.
    1. Unscrew the two screws holding the blind tension bracket in place and set aside
Remove the x2 screws from each side of the blind cassette to remove the cover.
  1. Lift the blind tension bracket up and adjust the tension (see video attached to this article).
    1. Insert a long sturdy object (for example a screwdriver) into the bracket. This will allow you to use leverage to control the spring once the blind is lifted out of the blind cassette.
    2. Slowly lift the blind out of the blind cassette while holding the long object to leverage the blind tension bracket. As you lift the bracket out of the blind cassette, you will notice the blind tension bracket.
    3. Carefully loosen the blind tension and insert the blind tension bracket back into the blind cassette.
Note: You may need to undo the tension a few times to get it to the perfect tension where the blind will easily move while also staying in place.
